What is a continuity tester?

A continuity tester is an electrical instrument used to determine if an electrical path can be discovered between two points. This instrument consists of an indicator in series with a electrical power source, usually a battery, terminating into two test leads. If a circuit is established between the test-leads, the continuity tester indicator is activated.
