Here at MCS Smart Calibration we pride ourselves on providing a quick and efficient calibration service, but there are a few steps you can also take to ensure the quickest possible turnaround for your RF and microwave equipment:

1. Book well ahead

Equipment due for calibration? Contact us in plenty of time to guarantee we have an available time slot to suit your needs.

2. Get a works order number

Before you send your equipment in, email or phone us for a works order number and quote this on all correspondence with us – this helps us to process your calibration as efficiently as possible.

3. Include relevant information prominently on the package

When you’ve packed your equipment ready for shipping, please include the word calibration, plus the works order number in a prominent position on the outside of the box (for example, on the address label). This will help our warehouse team to easily identify the equipment and fast-track it up to the calibration lab. This is particularly important if you have selected our Express Calibration Service.

4. Keep track of your equipment online

Once we’ve received your equipment we’ll email to let you know and to give you a login to our online calibration management tool, MCS-SmartCal, which is accessed via a customer login on the homepage of this website.

Here you can keep track of your equipment’s progress through calibration and find out when it’s ready to be returned to you. You’ll also be able to access a print-friendly electronic copy of the calibration certificate as soon your equipment has passed.

MCS-SmartCal handles all aspects of calibration management and is free for new and existing customers.

5. Let us know exactly who and where to send your equipment back to

To ensure the safe and timely return of your equipment, please provide us with a relevant contact name and telephone number for the day of the delivery. We can then pass these details on to our courier, in case they have any issues with the delivery.

This is particularly important if the person or team receiving the returned equipment is different from those dealing with the booking-in of the equipment and any calibration queries and can avoid much confusion!

It’s also really useful for us to have details of the opening hours of the building that the equipment is to be returned to, and any particular instructions about where to take the equipment (e.g. warehouse entrance or reception).

6. Your opinion counts

After you’ve received your equipment back, please phone or email to let us know how you found our service. We are continually striving to improve our calibration services so your feedback is very much valued.
